Tasty offers premium bagels baked and prepared the OLD FASHIONED way. Our bagels are first boiled in a kettle, we then rinse and cool them down in a fresh water trough. Finally, we baked the bagels in our revolving ovens. The boiling process reduces the starch content of the bagels, producing a golden brown thin crust and a chewy center.
So-called bagel stores in recent years have skipped this very important process. They steam the bagels in a rack oven producing a round piece of Italian bread with a hole in the middle. This is a less expensive way that requires very little effort and labor and produces a piece of bread they claim is a "bagel". Taste the difference at TASTY BAGELS.
TASTY BAGELS was established in 1983. The original owner is Joe Geraldi. Joe was born and raised in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. Joe's wife Angel and son Vincent manage the daily retail operation and catering division of Tasty. We are a full service deli and catering facility serving the tri state area for 25 terrific years. Everything at Tasty is prepared on premise. Nothing is commercially produced.
Since 2002 we have been providing our bagels on the internet, keeping customers delighted all over the US. Now you too can experience what New Yorkers, and people nationwide have been calling the best bagel in the world!
